Add a custom measure

Reading time:

The universe includes a wide set of predefined measures. In the new version, an additional feature allows users to create custom measures based on existing measures available in the universe. This feature enables users to define calculated measures using mathematical operations such as differences, addition, percentage difference, division, percentage division multiplication, allowing for more flexible and tailored analysis.

Create a Custom Measure

To create a custom measure, follow these steps:

  1. Add the two measures you want to use in the calculation to your query.
  2. Go to the Measures panel, then click the “+” icon to create a new empty measure.
  3. Select the first measure, then select the second measure from those added in step 1.
  4. Define the operation to apply (for example, addition, division, etc.).
  5. Specify an alias for the new custom measure.
  6. (Optional) Open the Aspect tab to apply formatting settings.
  7. Save the custom measure and run the query.
  8. The newly created custom measure will appear in the query results.
